Bot Builders | age 4-10
Program Description
Get ready to build, design, and discover! In this first session of Snapology’s Bot Builders program, students dive into the world of engineering through hands-on robotic builds that introduce how machines work in everyday life. Using LEGO® bricks, gears, axles, and motors, students create moving models while exploring foundational robotics and engineering concepts. This class is designed for a mixed-age group and is thoughtfully structured so each child is challenged at the right level. All students explore the same core concepts each week, while builds and challenges are differentiated by age and ability. Younger builders work with simpler models and guided instruction, while older or more experienced students take on more complex builds, mechanical challenges, and design extensions. From spinning windmills and launching catapults to moving helicopters and friendly robotic animals, each week introduces a new project focused on building fundamentals. This playful, age-appropriate approach to robotics encourages creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork—while allowing students to grow at their own pace. Students will: ⚙️ Explore Simple Machines — Learn how levers, pulleys, and wheels help robots move, just like real machines 🧱 Build with Gears, Axles & Motors — Experiment with different ways to make creations move, rotate, and respond 🧠 Practice Design Thinking — Plan, build, test, and improve models through guided challenges and open-ended exploration 🤝 Collaborate with Peers — Work together to share ideas, solve problems, and celebrate successful builds This session is perfect for kids who love to build, explore, and discover how things work—whether they are brand new to robotics or ready to take on more advanced building challenges.
