Foundational Engineering | age 4-10
Program Description
Does your learner love to tinker, take things apart, or figure out how things really work? Welcome to Snapology’s Foundational Engineers: Machines & Contraptions! In this hands-on engineering program, students will explore mechanical movement and the power of simple machines as they follow guided instructions to build a variety of machines and contraptions. Using gears, pulleys, wheels and axles, levers, and cranks, students will see how moving parts work together—then experiment with their designs to create new and exciting solutions. Designed for curious and creative thinkers, this program introduces both simple and complex machines while reinforcing key physics concepts. As students experiment with their builds, solve age appropriate design challenges, and collaborate with classmates, they’ll develop problem-solving skills and a deeper understanding of how engineering shapes the world around them. Students will: ⚙️ Explore simple and complex machines using gears, pulleys, levers, and axles 🏗 Build strong, stable structures that balance form and function 🧠 Experiment with physics concepts like motion, force, and mechanical advantage 🛠 Solve engineering challenges through testing and redesign 🤝 Practice teamwork and collaboration through partner and group builds Foundational Engineers is the perfect class for builders and thinkers alike—sparking curiosity, confidence, and a strong foundation in engineering through hands-on discovery.
