Program Description

In Snapology’s Amusement Park Engineering camp, students take on the thrilling challenge of designing, building, and testing their own amusement park rides! Using LEGO® bricks and mechanical components, budding engineers will dive into hands-on projects that blend creativity with real-world STEM concepts. Each week features a new ride-inspired build—like loop-de-loop coasters, spinning swings, and drop towers—that helps students explore the physics, motion, and mechanics behind theme park thrills. With each model, they’ll gain confidence in engineering design, problem-solving, and teamwork. Students will: 🛠️ Apply Real-World Engineering Concepts: Learn how gears, levers, and axles work together to make rides move. From momentum and gravity to friction and centrifugal force, students explore core STEM principles through interactive builds. 🎡 Design & Test Creative Models: Get hands-on with builds inspired by real amusement park rides, then modify and improve their creations based on testing and performance. Students develop their critical thinking and engineering design process. ⚙️ Use LEGO® Technic Elements: Take building to the next level with advanced components like motors, gears, and connectors that bring their rides to life in dynamic ways. 🤝 Work Together to Engineer Success: Collaborate with partners and small groups to brainstorm, build, and refine models. Along the way, students practice communication, cooperation, and resilience.
